Time Tracking Power-Up for Trello

Thousands of teams use Trello to organize their projects and tasks. The Everhour integration adds time tracking, estimates, and reporting directly inside Trello — no tab switching, no duplicate data entry.

Setup

Important: To see the embedded timer in Trello, you need to install the Everhour browser extension. The extension must be up-to-date and installed on every computer your team uses.

  • During Everhour signup you'll be prompted to connect Trello — click the Trello button and follow the steps
  • You can also connect at any time from the Integrations page in your account settings
  • Invite your team to Everhour — only those you invite will be able to track time. Team members need to connect their own Trello accounts and install the extension

Controls inside Trello

After connecting, Everhour adds the following to your Trello interface:

  • Timesheet button — opens a window to view all your time entries for a day or week and add time with comments
  • Header — configure a project as billable, set a budget, and see total project hours and estimates
  • Task time badge — shows total time reported per person and the estimate. Click to edit
  • Timer / manual entry buttons — start a timer or log time directly on any card

How sync works

When you connect Trello, Everhour automatically syncs all your boards. New boards you create in Trello are added automatically. Renamed boards and cards are updated in Everhour so your reports always show fresh data.

To trigger an instant sync: go to the Integrations page and hit "Re-sync projects", or go to the Projects page, select a project, and click "Resync Tasks".

Making reports with Trello data

Everhour reports expose Trello-specific columns you can use in report builder:

  • Project / Task — Trello board and card names
  • Section — the Trello list the card belongs to
  • Task number / Task status — card ID and open/closed state
  • Tag — Trello label names
  • Any Trello custom field can be added as a separate column

Permissions

Everhour mirrors Trello's permissions. If a user has access to a board in Trello, they can track time to its cards in Everhour. Remove access in Trello and the user loses it in Everhour too (past history stays in admin reports).

Configuring budgets, marking tasks as non-billable, and assigning clients can only be done by admins.
