Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Everhour desktop app.

Do I need an Everhour account to use the desktop app?

Yes. The desktop app requires an existing Everhour account. You need to sign up on the web first, complete a quick onboarding, and then download the app and log in. There is no way to create an account from the desktop app itself.

Is the Everhour desktop app free?

Yes. The app is free and works with both the Free and Team plans. If your trial has expired and you have not selected a plan yet, you will need to do that in the web version first.

Which platforms are supported?

Currently, the desktop app is available for macOS only. Windows support is planned and coming soon.

Can I track time offline?

Not yet. The app currently requires an internet connection to start and stop timers or add time entries. We hope to add offline support in the future.

Does the desktop app have all the features of the web version?

Not everything, but the most essential features are there: time tracking, timers, timesheets, basic reporting, and project browsing. For advanced settings, client management, and full reporting you will still need the web version.

Can I use the app without integrations?

Yes. The app works with Everhour built-in projects and tasks, no integrations required. If you do use Asana, Jira, ClickUp, or other tools, those tasks will appear in the app automatically.

Is there a dark mode?

Yes. You can set the appearance in your profile. It can mirror your system setting, or you can force light or dark mode manually.

How can I share feedback or ideas?

We would love to hear from you, whether it is a feature request, a bug report, or just a kind word. Positive feedback motivates our team more than you would think. You can reach us anytime at ask@everhour.com.
