New Role – Supervisor

March 30, 2017

The problem:

We have a client project manager as a part of our team. She wants an admin status to be able to monitor team progress in the Reporting tab. But the problem is she is able to see all our imported projects and is supposed to see only those she is a member of in Asana. But she will have access to the info she is not supposed to.

You asked – We listened!

Here is a new role which is a compromise between open teams and teams that limit information of what different members see.

– A supervisor has limited access to live dashboard (see who does what right now). They see activity only against those tasks that belong to projects this supervisor has access to (no matter if the project is internal or managed in a 3d party app). For example, if John is currently working on a project Mike (supervisor) has no access to, Mike won’t know what John is doing.

– A supervisor sees and can edit time only of such tasks in reports.

– A supervisor can’t invite new members to the team.

– A supervisor can’t access billing.

To make your team member a supervisor, go to the team members’ page, select a user and change the role.
