Introducing New Admin Permissions

November 13, 2024

In response to feedback from our users, we’re excited to announce an update to admin permissions! This new feature gives your team more flexibility and control when managing administrative roles.

Previously, admin permissions could only be configured as either full access or no access for specific areas, such as:

  • Billing and Budgeting
  • Invoices
  • Costs
  • Expenses

While this system worked well for some teams, others found it too limiting. Many teams created limited admin roles to grant access to specific functionalities, such as timesheet approval, since the supervisor role didn’t cover these needs. At the same time, they wanted to ensure such managers could monitor billing without having the ability to make changes.

To address these challenges, we’ve added more granular permission options. Now, you can specify whether an admin can view or edit data in the areas listed above. This enhancement allows you to:

  • Provide limited admins with exactly the access they need—no more, no less.
  • Ensure sensitive data remains protected by restricting editing rights.
  • Streamline workflows while maintaining oversight and security.

How It Works

introducing new admin permissions for greater control
  1. Navigate to Members page.
  2. Choose an admin to customize.
  3. For each area (e.g., Billing, Costs), decide if the admin can view only or edit the data.

This update makes it easier to assign roles that match your team’s unique requirements, empowering admins to handle their responsibilities without overstepping boundaries.
