Timesheet View to Add your Task Hours
The Everhour team is excited to roll out one more feature that many of you should like a lot! We called it a Timesheet view.
Its aim is to let a user quickly add time to the tasks they are working through a week. We put precision above all, but sometimes you just need to enter hours retrospectively.
This is why we would like to give an alternative where you find a task, and then enter hours you worked on it day-by-day. You can do it whenever you want and like to.
Find a Place to Add Tasks
If a user goes to the Time page, they will see a new tab: Timesheet. You need to open the second tab.
If the sheet is empty, you will need to fill it with tasks. You can achieve it by clicking on Add Task or selecting Add Recent Tasks you have worked on before.
Adding a task is similar to what a user does when selecting a task to add hours manually: to find a project first, then pick up a task inside that project.
It might be much faster just to add all the work you did before, as you are likely to continue working on the same stuff. This is when adding recent tasks is very instrumental. It pulls up all tasks with time from last week. When there are fewer than 10 tasks, we include tasks from the earlier period. However, a user is free to pick tasks they wish to add time for.
Log Hours in Your Timesheet
So now you are ready to enter your hours against each task. This is even easier to do by using tab Tab to move time input left and right, and Enter to move it up and down.
The old good timer button stays there too when you hover on a task. You can see it running at the top of your sheet and in the cell.
When you made a mistake and included a task that you are not going to report on, head to the right side to delete it from your sheet. But be careful, if you’ve already logged time, it will disappear!
Sometimes, members can notice that some cells do not allow to add hours. There may be 2 reasons: the chosen period is locked for time editing by admins or you have a daily or weekly limit to report time. But it is better to get in touch with an admin to find out.
