An email invoice for Greece has two jobs: deliver the invoice document and make payment easy. The email should name the invoice number, amount due, currency, due date, payment method, and short service period. The attached invoice carries the legal and tax details, so the email body should stay concise and point the client to the attachment.
For Greek B2B work, the invoice must also fit the VAT context. Greece uses VAT, ΦΠΑ, within the EU VAT system. The EU VAT-rate table lists Greece with a 24% standard VAT rate, reduced rates of 6%, 13%, and 17%, and a 4% super-reduced rate. The applicable rate depends on the goods, services, and any special territorial rule.
A full EU VAT invoice needs the issue date, a unique sequential invoice number, supplier and customer names and addresses, VAT ID where required, description and quantity, net unit price, transaction or payment date if different, VAT rate, VAT amount, and a VAT breakdown by rate or exemption. Greek invoices commonly use the supplier's VAT identification number or Greek TIN, AFM.
A practical service line can read: "Consulting services, March 2026, 12 hours at €80 per hour, net €960, VAT 24%, VAT €230.40, total €1,190.40." If one invoice includes supplies taxed at different Greek VAT rates, separate the lines or show a clear VAT breakdown by rate. Mixing rates into one unexplained total creates avoidable review questions.
The email attachment should be the final invoice, usually a PDF, with a subject line that helps the client file it: "Invoice GR-2026-014 from Acme Studio." The message should not replace the invoice itself. It should state the amount, due date, and payment reference, then keep the invoice number consistent with the attached document.
Greece also uses AADE's myDATA environment for invoice data transmission. AADE's timologio application supports electronic invoice issuance and real-time transmission of the necessary information to the myDATA platform. Public-sector contracts have a separate e-invoicing context: GSIS states that the staged obligation for suppliers to submit electronic invoices began on September 12, 2023, with routing through certified e-invoicing providers and PEPPOL-related infrastructure where required.
A free invoice tool is enough when you need one invoice, already know the client details, and can select the correct Greek VAT treatment yourself. It works best for a clean PDF attachment, a simple email, and a one-off payment request with a short service description.
A managed workflow becomes necessary when tracked time, different billable rates, project work, and invoice history must stay connected. Everhour separates cost and billable rates, supports per-person defaults and per-project overrides, preserves dated rate history, and can price billable work by project, member, or task before invoice amounts are prepared.

Yes, a Greek invoice can be delivered by email as the client-facing delivery method, but the attached invoice still needs the required VAT invoice details. The email should not be treated as the tax invoice unless it contains the complete invoice information in a durable, client-usable format.
A Greek invoice should show the supplier's VAT identification number or Greek TIN, AFM, where required. Customer VAT ID details also belong on the invoice where the customer is liable for tax. Keep names, addresses, and identifiers aligned with the client's tax records to reduce payment and accounting delays.
Greek or English can be used in AADE's timologio document issuance language options. For cross-border clients, English often makes review easier, but the invoice still needs the correct Greek VAT details, identifiers, amounts, and payment terms. Keep the language consistent across the attached invoice and email message.
State the exact due date, not only "net 30." EU commercial late-payment rules use 30 calendar days as the default when the contract does not fix a payment period. For Greece, the listed statutory commercial late-payment interest rate is 10.15% for January 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026 when no contractual rate applies.
The most common mistake is sending a clear email with an incomplete attached invoice. A client can understand the amount due and still reject the document if the invoice lacks a sequential number, VAT ID where required, line quantity, net unit price, VAT rate, VAT amount, or VAT breakdown by rate or exemption.
Everhour separates internal cost rates from client-facing billable rates so reports can calculate labor cost, revenue, and profit. Teams can use default per-person rates, per-project overrides, dated rate changes, and project, member, or custom task rates for billable work.
Everhour can turn tracked billable time and expenses into invoices, then mark included time as invoiced so it does not appear again in later invoices. Invoice data can be grouped by project, task, person, date, or another available breakdown before export.
Keep Greek invoice preparation tied to priced work, dated rates, and client billing rules. Everhour connects billable-rate setup with invoice-ready time for cleaner billing control.
