A Greece estimate should give the buyer enough detail to approve the work without forcing invoice rework later. Include the supplier name and address, customer name and address, estimate issue date, estimate number, line descriptions, quantities, unit prices, currency, VAT treatment, total amount, validity date, and payment terms. Add the supplier VAT identification number or Greek TIN, known as AFM, when the supplier has one.
The estimate is still a pre-sale document. The final VAT invoice must follow EU invoicing fields when the supply becomes invoiceable, including a unique sequential invoice number, VAT rate, VAT amount, and any required supply or payment date. Greece uses VAT, or ΦΠΑ, within the EU VAT system, so the estimate should make the expected tax treatment visible before the client accepts the price.
Greece has a 24% standard VAT rate, reduced rates of 6%, 13%, and 17%, and a 4% super-reduced rate for qualifying supplies. The correct rate depends on the goods, services, and any special territorial rule. Place VAT beside the relevant line or in a clear VAT breakdown by rate, so the buyer can see the net amount, tax amount, and gross total.
A practical line can read: consulting package, 10 hours, €75 unit price, €750 net, 24% VAT, €180 VAT, €930 total. If one estimate includes items with different VAT rates, split the lines and subtotal each rate separately. A single blended VAT line creates review problems because the final VAT invoice must show the VAT breakdown by rate or exemption.
A Greece estimate should separate commercial approval from invoice issuance. Use an estimate number for tracking, then issue the final invoice with its own unique sequential invoice number after the client accepts the work or the taxable supply is ready to invoice. Keep the accepted estimate, client approval, and final invoice connected in your records.
Greece also uses AADE's myDATA environment for invoice data transmission. AADE's timologio application supports electronic invoice issuance and real-time transmission of the necessary information to myDATA, and documents can be issued in Greek or English. Public-sector contracts have extra e-invoicing requirements, with a staged B2G obligation that began on September 12, 2023.
A free estimate template is enough when you price a one-off job, send a draft for approval, and create the final invoice manually. It works best when the scope is simple, the VAT rate is clear, and the client does not require recurring billing, detailed time records, or accounting export.
A managed workflow matters when estimates become invoices from tracked work. Everhour Billing & Invoicing converts tracked billable time and expenses into client invoices, calculates invoice amounts from rates while excluding non-billable tasks, and supports client settings such as taxes, discounts, and payment terms. The final invoice can then be exported to QuickBooks Online, Xero, or FreshBooks.

A Greece estimate is a price proposal or approval document. A VAT invoice is the tax document issued for the supply when invoicing rules apply. Under EU VAT invoicing rules, a business generally must issue a VAT invoice for most B2B supplies, subject to exemptions for some financial, insurance, and other exempt transactions.
Add the supplier's VAT identification number or Greek TIN, known as AFM, when available. EU rules require the supplier's VAT identification number on invoices except simplified invoices in some countries, and Greece's AADE issues Greek tax identification numbers through its tax-register process. Collecting the identifier at estimate stage reduces final invoice edits.
Use the VAT rate that applies to the specific goods, services, and territorial rule. Greece's listed rates are 24% standard VAT, reduced rates of 6%, 13%, and 17%, and a 4% super-reduced rate. Split estimate lines when different rates apply, because the final invoice needs a VAT breakdown by rate or exemption.
The estimate itself is a commercial document, but the final invoice workflow should account for myDATA. AADE's timologio application supports electronic invoice issuance and real-time transmission to myDATA. E-invoices issued through an AADE-recognized provider receive a Unique Entry Number and must show a QR code for authenticity verification.
Use the payment term agreed with the client. If a business contract does not set a payment period, EU commercial late-payment rules make interest automatically payable 30 calendar days after the client receives the invoice or payment request, or after delivery if receipt date is unknown. Greece's statutory commercial late-payment interest rate is 10.15% for January 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026 when no contractual rate applies.
Everhour Billing & Invoicing converts tracked billable time and expenses into client invoices, calculates invoice amounts from rates, and excludes non-billable tasks. Client records can hold contact details, tax rate, discount, and payment terms, then invoices can export to QuickBooks Online, Xero, or FreshBooks with status syncing back to Everhour.
