You came here to create an invoice you can email to a Malaysian buyer, usually as a PDF or electronic document attached to a short payment request. The practical result is a document that names the supplier and buyer, describes the goods or services, shows MYR totals, states any SST treatment, and gives the buyer enough payment detail to process it without rework.
Malaysia's SST invoice guidance allows sales tax and service tax invoices to be issued in hard copy or electronic form, and the invoice can be in Malay or English. That matters for email delivery: the document still needs the prescribed invoice details even when the buyer receives it by email instead of on paper.
A Malaysian invoice should start with supplier details, buyer details, invoice number, issue date, currency, line items, tax treatment, totals, and payment instructions. MyInvois makes supplier and buyer information, e-Invoice type and version, e-Invoice code or number, issue date and time, digital signature, invoice currency, line items, monetary totals, total tax amount, and tax type mandatory fields.
Supplier identifiers need special attention. A Malaysian e-Invoice requires the supplier's TIN, registration or identification number, MSIC code, business activity description, address, and contact number. The supplier's SST registration number is mandatory for SST registrants, and "NA" is used if the supplier is not registered. Buyer details require the buyer's name, TIN, registration or identification number, address, and contact number.
Emailing a document does not replace Malaysia's phased e-Invoice rules when your business falls inside the mandate. LHDN's timeline applies by annual turnover or revenue: more than RM100 million from August 1, 2024, more than RM25 million to RM100 million from January 1, 2025, more than RM5 million to RM25 million from July 1, 2025, and RM1 million to RM5 million from January 1, 2026.
Taxpayers with annual turnover or revenue below RM1,000,000 are exempt under the listed LHDN phase. Covered businesses still need to treat email as the delivery step, while MyInvois handles structured submission, near real-time validation, and storage for B2B, B2C, and B2G transactions. The invoice you send should match the validated data, especially the invoice number, buyer identifiers, currency, totals, and tax fields.
A free invoice tool is enough when you need one clean invoice, have the buyer's identifiers ready, know whether SST applies, and can enter payment terms once. It also works for low-volume billing where each invoice is reviewed manually before sending. MyInvois treats payment terms as optional agreed terms, so include them when the buyer expects timing, payment method, or bank details.
A managed workflow becomes useful when tracked work, rates, expenses, and invoice lines change across clients or projects. Everhour separates internal cost rates from client-facing billable rates, supports per-person defaults and per-project overrides, preserves dated rate history, and prices billable work by project, member, or task before invoice preparation. That keeps the invoice amount tied to approved work instead of manual reconstruction.

Yes. Malaysia's SST invoice guidance permits sales tax and service tax invoices to be issued in hard copy or electronic form. The invoice still needs the prescribed particulars. Email works as a delivery method when the attached or linked invoice contains the required supplier, buyer, line-item, total, currency, and tax information.
The supplier needs a TIN, registration or identification number, MSIC code, business activity description, address, and contact number. An SST registration number is mandatory for SST registrants, with "NA" used if the supplier is not registered. The buyer needs a name, TIN, registration or identification number, address, contact number, and SST number field where applicable.
No. LHDN phases mandatory e-Invoice implementation by annual turnover or revenue and exempts taxpayers with annual turnover or revenue below RM1,000,000. Businesses at RM1 million to RM5 million enter the mandate from January 1, 2026. Higher turnover groups entered earlier under the published timeline.
MyInvois requires an invoice currency code. Use MYR for a Malaysian Ringgit invoice. A currency exchange rate is mandatory where a non-Malaysian currency must be converted into Malaysian Ringgit. The invoice totals should include total excluding tax, total including tax, total payable amount, total tax amount, and total tax amount per tax type.
The common correction trigger is a mismatch between the emailed invoice and the structured invoice data. Buyer TIN, registration number, SST status, invoice number, currency, tax type, and totals need to match across the document and MyInvois record. A clean email attachment still creates rework if the buyer cannot reconcile it to validated invoice data.
Everhour separates cost and billable rates, supports default per-person rates, and allows per-project overrides when client pricing differs. Rate changes can be dated, so older reports keep their original calculations while current Malaysian invoice work uses the correct project, member, or task rate.
Track approved billable work, preserve dated rates, and price invoice lines by project, member, or task. Everhour keeps client billing connected to the work behind each invoice.
