A Pakistan time card calculation answers a practical payroll question: how many hours did the employee actually work after excluding rest or meal intervals, and which hours move beyond the covered workplace's ordinary adult limits. The baseline for covered adult workplaces is 9 hours per day and 48 hours per week, with overtime generally paid at twice the ordinary rate when lawful overtime is worked.
The result matters for payroll checks, weekly approvals, and overtime review. A time card should show start time, end time, unpaid meal or rest interval, worked daily total, and weekly total. Pakistan Standard Time also matters for time entries because statutory references to time of day use UTC+05:00, so cross-border admin teams should avoid mixing local device time with payroll time.
Start with each day's time span, subtract intervals excluded from working hours, then total the paid working hours for the week. Covered shops and establishments exclude allowed rest and meal intervals from working hours, so a 10-hour span with a 1-hour meal interval produces 9 worked hours. For covered adult workplaces, compare the result with 9 hours per day and 48 hours per week.
For example, an adult employee in a covered establishment earns PKR 650 per hour and records worked daily totals of 9, 8, 10, 9, 8, and 7 hours after unpaid meal intervals. The weekly total is 51 hours. One daily hour exceeds the 9-hour day on the 10-hour day, and the weekly total is 3 hours above 48. Regular pay is 48 hours at PKR 650, or PKR 31,200. Overtime pay is 3 hours at PKR 1,300, or PKR 3,900. Total pay is PKR 35,100.
Break treatment changes the answer before overtime math starts. Covered shops and establishments may not require or permit an adult employee to work continuously for more than 6 hours unless the employee receives at least a 1-hour rest or meal interval. Those intervals are excluded from working hours, so including the meal break as paid working time inflates the weekly total.
Factories use different interval options. Adult factory work periods may be arranged with no period over 6 hours and at least a 1-hour rest interval, or with no period over 5 hours, a 30-minute rest interval after up to 5 hours, and two such intervals before working more than 8.5 hours. Adult factory work periods, including rest intervals, must stay within a 12-hour daily spread unless an authorized exemption applies.
A one-off calculation is enough when you need to check a single weekly time card, confirm unpaid meal deductions, or test whether a daily total exceeds 9 hours. It also works for a quick payroll estimate when the rate, worked hours, and overtime treatment are already confirmed for the employee category, province, and workplace type.
A managed workflow becomes necessary when managers approve weekly time cards, handle repeated overtime, or export payroll records. Everhour Reporting can group time by member, project, date range, and metadata, then export CSV, Excel/XLSX, or PDF reports. Keep the legal rule review separate from the tool setup, then use the reporting layer to preserve the approved totals.

Worked time is the time the employee is at the employer's disposal after excluding intervals that the applicable law treats as rest or meal intervals. For covered shops and establishments, working hours expressly exclude allowed rest and meal intervals. A time card should separate the shift span from the paid working total.
Use both when the covered workplace rule requires both. The baseline for covered adult workplaces is 9 hours per day and 48 hours per week, with overtime generally paid at twice the ordinary rate when lawful overtime is worked beyond the applicable daily or weekly threshold. Avoid counting the same overtime hour twice.
For covered shops and establishments, allowed rest or meal intervals are excluded from working hours, so those statutory intervals do not count as worked time. The time card should record the interval separately from the worked total. Contract, policy, sector, and provincial rules can affect payroll treatment, so classify the interval before calculating pay.
Pakistan's statutory time standard is UTC+05:00. A time card that mixes Pakistan Standard Time with another time zone can shift the date, weekly cutoff, or daily total. Remote payroll teams should store entries against the Pakistan workday used for the employee's workplace schedule.
The fastest mistake is counting the whole shift span as working hours after a statutory meal interval was allowed. A 9-hour shift span with a 1-hour excluded meal interval equals 8 worked hours for covered shops and establishments. That one-hour difference can change weekly totals, overtime checks, and payroll exports.
Everhour Reporting lets managers build reports with 45+ columns, filters, grouping, date ranges, and exports in CSV, Excel/XLSX, or PDF. Teams can review approved time by employee, project, and period before handing totals to payroll.
Everhour timecards record daily, weekly, and monthly work-hour totals, including clock-in, clock-out, breaks, and approval. Admins can download team timesheet data for payroll review while keeping approved time protected from regular member edits.
