Use this page to create a receipt for a Ukrainian sale, service, deposit, reimbursement, or client payment. The finished record should identify the seller, buyer, date, payment, items or services, amounts in UAH, and the business reason for the transaction. For routine bookkeeping, the receipt needs enough detail for the buyer and seller to match it to the contract, invoice, bank payment, or cash record.
Ukraine treats ordinary accounting source documents separately from VAT tax invoices. Ukrainian accounting records are based on primary documents, which may be paper or electronic and must include the document name, compilation date, issuer name, transaction content and measurement unit, responsible persons' positions and surnames, and a signature or other identifier of the participant. A receipt can support records only when those details are complete.
Start with the document title, receipt number, issue date, seller name, buyer name, and a clear description of the transaction. Add the quantity or volume, unit, unit price, subtotal, tax treatment, total paid, payment method, and currency. A service receipt can list a line such as "Consulting services, 6 hours, UAH 1,200 per hour, UAH 7,200 total" when that matches the agreed work.
Payment timing also belongs in the record when the receipt relates to an amount due rather than an amount already paid. Ukrainian obligations are performed on the contractually fixed due date. If no due date is set or payment is due on demand, the debtor must perform within seven days after the creditor's demand unless immediate performance follows from the contract or law.
A Ukrainian VAT tax invoice has stricter rules than a general receipt. It is prepared by a person registered as a VAT payer and assigned an individual VAT payer tax number. VAT tax invoices and their annexes must be prepared electronically with an authorized person's qualified or qualifying advanced e-signature, and all tax invoices must be registered in the Unified Register of Tax Invoices.
A VAT tax invoice is completed in Ukrainian, and monetary fields are completed in hryvnias with kopiykas unless the tax-invoice procedure provides otherwise. Its line-item section records the goods or services description, UKT ZED goods code or DKPP service code, unit of measurement, quantity or volume, unit price excluding VAT, VAT-rate code, taxable supply amount excluding VAT, and VAT amount.
A one-off receipt is enough when you need a clean payment record, a simple client confirmation, or a source document that matches a small transaction. It works best when the sale has already happened, the tax treatment is known, and you do not need to pull hours, rates, expenses, approvals, or uninvoiced work from several places.
A managed workflow is better when receipts and invoices come from billable time, changing rates, and repeat client projects. Everhour separates cost and billable rates, supports per-person defaults and per-project overrides, preserves dated rate history, and can price billable work by project, member, or task before the invoice is prepared.

A regular receipt does not replace a Ukrainian VAT tax invoice for VAT reporting. A VAT tax invoice is a regulated electronic document prepared by a registered VAT payer with an individual VAT payer tax number and registered in the Unified Register of Tax Invoices. A receipt still helps document payment or transaction details for bookkeeping.
Ukraine's VAT regime uses a 20% standard rate, a 14% rate for certain agricultural products, a 7% reduced rate for specified medicines, medical goods and selected services, and a 0% rate for exports of goods and certain international-transport and related transactions. Use the rate that matches the specific supply.
VAT details belong on the receipt when the seller charges VAT or needs the receipt to align with VAT documentation. Compulsory VAT registration starts when taxable transactions exceed UAH 1 million during the past 12 consecutive months, with voluntary registration available before the threshold is reached. A non-VAT seller should avoid presenting a normal receipt as a VAT tax invoice.
Receipts for Ukrainian transactions should present monetary amounts clearly in hryvnias when the obligation is payable in Ukraine. VAT tax invoices have a stricter rule: monetary fields are completed in hryvnias with kopiykas unless the tax-invoice procedure provides otherwise. A foreign-currency contract still needs clear conversion and payment terms for bookkeeping.
Do not copy VAT tax invoice numbering rules onto a basic receipt unless your accounting policy uses the same control. For VAT tax invoices, the sequential number contains only numeric values, cannot be duplicated for the same date, and cannot begin with zero. Ordinary receipts still need consistent numbering so payments and records match.
Everhour separates internal cost rates from client-facing billable rates, so reports can calculate labor cost, revenue, and profit before billing. Teams can set default per-person rates, override rates by project, preserve dated rate changes, and price billable work by project, member, or custom task rate.
Use a receipt for one transaction. Use Everhour when client billing depends on dated rates, project overrides, and billable work that must stay tied to invoices and profit reporting.
