Managing a team becomes much easier when everyone stays informed – especially in shift-based workplaces. Today, we\u2019re excited to introduce one of our most important updates yet: Notifications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this release, Shifts can now proactively remind employees about upcoming shifts, notify them about changes, and help teams avoid missed clock-ins. The result: clearer communication, fewer surprises, and a more reliable schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to notifications, we\u2019re also rolling out two improvements to Attendance page: average in\/out sparkline and location preview on web.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smart Reminders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Employees can now receive timely reminders before and after their shifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upcoming Shift Reminder<\/strong>
Helps employees prepare and arrive on time.
Available intervals: 24 hours<\/strong>, 12 hours<\/strong>, 1 hour<\/strong> before shift start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Missed Clock-In Reminder<\/strong>
Sent if an employee hasn\u2019t clocked in after the shift begins.
Intervals: 5 minutes<\/strong>, 15 minutes<\/strong>, 30 minutes<\/strong> after shift start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These reminders significantly reduce lateness and forgotten clock-ins \u2014 especially helpful for busy teams or employees working irregular hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real-Time Notifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Shifts now keeps everyone updated when something important changes in their schedule. Employees can receive:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • New Shift Assigned<\/strong> \u2014 a manager assigns and publishes a shift.<\/li>
  • New Schedule Published<\/strong> \u2014 multiple shifts are published at once.<\/li>
  • Shift Updated<\/strong> \u2014 assigned shift details change.<\/li>
  • Shift Deleted<\/strong> \u2014 shift is removed from the schedule.<\/li>
  • Open Shift Available<\/strong> \u2014 a new open shift appears.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Every notification arrives as both a push notification<\/strong> and an Inbox message<\/strong>, so nothing gets missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Full Control in Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Every employee can customize their own notification preferences \u2014 on both web and mobile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Users can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • enable or disable any notification type<\/li>
    • choose how early or late reminders are sent<\/li>
    • manage push notifications and Inbox messages<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Attendance: Avg In\/Out Sparkline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      We\u2019ve added a small but powerful tool to the Attendance page.
      For each employee, you can now see a weekly or monthly sparkline<\/strong> showing their average clock-in and clock-out times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      It\u2019s an easy way to spot patterns:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • consistent early starts<\/li>
      • chronically late clock-ins<\/li>
      • irregular or drifting schedules<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Attendance: Clock-In Location (Web)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Admins using geolocation on mobile will now see a location pin<\/strong> directly in Attendance on the web.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Click the pin to load the location on a map and instantly verify where the clock-in happened.
        It\u2019s a simple quality-of-life improvement, but incredibly helpful for distributed teams and field operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Make Sure You’re on the Latest App Version<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Notifications and reminders are available on the newest mobile release (v1.7.0)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Google Play<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Updating ensures your employees get push notifications and have access to the new Settings panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
