Managing team schedules just got a whole lot easier! We’re thrilled to announce our latest feature: Shifts Publishing. This new functionality empowers admins to create draft shifts, which remain hidden from users until the admin decides to publish them. Here\u2019s a closer look at how this feature works and how it can benefit your team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why We Added Shifts Publishing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In the fast-paced world of team management, having the flexibility to plan ahead without immediate changes affecting the whole team is crucial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the Shifts Publishing feature, admins can now draft schedules in advance, make necessary adjustments, and ensure everything is perfect before sharing it with the team. This approach minimizes confusion and errors, leading to a smoother, more efficient scheduling process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How It Works<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Enabling the Feature<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the team settings, you’ll find the option to “Require publish for new shifts.” Activating this option means all new shifts will be created as drafts by default. If this option is disabled, shifts will be published immediately, just as in the current version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creating Draft Shifts<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

By default, all new shifts are created as unpublished and are only visible to admins. The initial version does not support an “Unpublish” function. If a shift needs to be removed from the schedule, it must be deleted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Managing Published Shifts<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Any changes to already published shifts are updated in real-time and are immediately visible to users. When a published shift is copied, the copy will be created as a draft. For instance, if you copy a week’s schedule, the copied shifts will remain unpublished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publishing Draft Shifts<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We’ve added a “Publish (N)” button in the toolbar, where “N” indicates the number of draft shifts for the selected period (day\/week\/month). Clicking this button will open a confirmation modal with details about the period, the number of shifts, and the number of users affected by the publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
